'Boys of Zummer Tour' preview

When I first saw the pre-tour video for Fall Out Boy with Wiz Khalifa...I wasn't

exactly opposed to the show but I wasn't jumping out of my seat, either. I'm sure the boys of Fall Out Boy are capable of making a decent decision of who to tour with but Khalifa? The only thing I know from that guy is his hit "Black and Yellow." (Which I just make fun of and sing as a joke) As for Fall Out Boy, I've loved them since middle school. I fell in love after hearing "Dance, Dance," and "Thnks Fr Th Mmrs" which were my jams for probably two years straight. Pete Wentz is beautiful and Patrick Stump's voice is unbelievably sensual. God, thinking about it GIVES ME CHILLS. Anyway, I've never had the opportunity to see the boys, so of course I bought tickets to see them this Friday, June 26. I've heard some speculations that FOB weren't good live performers but I can't really wrap my head around that because again, Stump's voice is literally flawless. They're the epitome of alternative and their new album, American Beauty/American Psycho has a new sound that makes me want to dance all over the place. If we're talking about albums though, Save Rock and Roll had to be their best so far. You've got singles like "Alone Together," "My Songs Know What You Did In The Dark," and "Centuries." They all made it to top charts on the radio, and in my heart. "Just One Yesterday" and "Where Did The Party Go" are almost underrated, I mean, come on. Stump sings: "If heaven's grief brings hell's rain then I'd trade all my tomorrows for just one yesterday." Their lyrics are so deep but the beat makes it so inviting. American Beauty/American Psycho is really interesting though because there are only nine songs, and they're all very different. At first, I wasn't sure how to feel about "Uma Thurman" and "Favorite Record" but after a few listens, I'm totally hooked. "Fourth of July" has to be my favorite off of this one, because the lyrics are so damn catchy. "It was the fourth of July, you and I were fireworks that went off too soon." So tomorrow, I have lawn seats, which is not typically what I'd like to do but this decision was last minute. Although I won't be close to the stage, I'm still expecting a close to flawless show (from FOB) and I hope Khalifa isn't hard to get through...Again though, I'm trusting their decision to bring him on tour. I really think that the boys will put on an amazing show-my inner sixth grade fangirl self is going to come out tomorrow and I'M SO PUMPED. Pete Wentz....I'll be seeing you in less than 24 hours.
